Well I decided to go home early for break this year, it was just time to get off campus before I went stir crazy. hah. But since I am leaving this afternoon I will be missing 3 firings! What a weekend to be gone... oh well.
There are about 6 plates and 21 mugs waiting to be bisqued.
About 15 pieces of various sorts and 8 spoons in the wood firing.
The cone 10 gas firing has much less than I intended, but security kicked me out of the studio at 2am last night in the middle of my glazing! ugh, the nerve. :) I'll probably get about 6 plates and 13 mugs out of that one, but I have a whole other shelf of bisqueware that needs to be glazed; I guess the next one will be mostly my stuff!
Last night though, I had the honor of doing a throwing demo for the Fantastic Laura Day's floor bible study, and now have a few pieces (actually a pretty big bowl that I really enjoy) drying, which was not in my plans, as I wont be here for a whole week, well longer really. I hope they don't dry out too much and crack since I do still need to trim them.
This semester has been surprisingly productive, and quite the learning curve too! I can't believe how much I have really improved when it comes to control on the wheel and throwing regular forms. I thank Gary for that. He's stuck on me like gum on a shoe to focus on one thing and really master the process. Mastery is just a haze in the distant future, but the hike to get there has been pretty awesome so far. :)
and on that note... I'm hitting the road.
Peace and Love
